1.summary In this class, the behavioral and cultural characteristics of various countries were taught. The first question the professor asked was, 'Do you agree that Confucian culture exists in Korea and China?' I agreed with that idea. (I tried to make a presentation, but the professor passed me :() When looking at Korea where I live, adults should use honorifics as the basis and have good manners. I have learned Confucian attitudes from an early age, such as starting to eat when an adult starts eating. This is the basis for the existence of Confucian culture. The next question was, 'People like English, but what are the disadvantages of using English?' English is very cool and a great language. If it's a disadvantage, I think it's an accent. I heard that there are many cases where you don't understand what you're talking about if you don't speak properly. 2.interesting The most interesting thing about this class was that I was able to think abou...

1.summary In this class, we investigated the issues that arise in our society and the interests of the people of each country and why they are interested in them. The number one concern in Korea was the impact of the virus of Corona. I thought bts or BLACKPINK would be the number one unconditionally, but it was unexpected. Certainly, people's interests seem to determine how much it affects their lives. Then, we had time to ask, answer, and think about the issue of gender equality, which is an issue in Korea, and the problems that may arise as the problem intensifies. 2.interesting Among the topics of discussion in class, there was a topic of 'Are humans rational?' and I found this topic very interesting. Because we would live with the thought of 'Of course humans are rational', but that question was a natural question, such as 'Are you breathing now?' Humans are rational. However, sometimes you can't overcome your emotions and let go of your reason. F...

1.summary  In this class, we taught to see sociology from a theoretical perspective. Society forms a very large organic structure, and parts of the social system contribute to each other and exert synergy. We had time to think about the roles of essential parts of our society by asking questions such as, 'What is the role of schools?'' Then, sociologist marx said that competition causes social conflict. 2.interesting This class was probably a given. Society is a group of individuals. In that group, we connect and compete with each other to create synergy. I found this very interesting. It is really great that perhaps naturally occurring societies coexist and develop like an organism, and it is such a sophisticated and machine-like system that it is not strange to say that someone intentionally created a society. 3.discussion I would like to discuss it with our students in the Department of Information and Social Media. 'How great is the influence of society?' I wi...

1.summary  In today's class, we taught on the subject of scientific methods based on sociology. For me, this topic came very difficult. I learned the contents of the processes and methods until establishing a specific theory (difficult!!). However, it was easy to understand thanks to the professor's excellent teaching method and teaching ability. As you said in the lecture, the hypothesis was the key point when establishing a theory. I think you're right. We act not only when doing experiments, but also from the hypothesis of thinking, 'Wouldn't it be like this?' We had time to think while listening to various hypotheses as examples. 2.interesting What was interesting in today's class was that research takes place over very systematic steps. Observe, measure, experiment, formulate, test, and eventually establish or correct a hypothesis. If any of these steps were omitted, it would not be a perfect study, which seemed like a surgery (if even one step went w...

1.summary In this lecture, there was a general introduction to the professor and the class. The professor's teaching method is to ask questions and answer them directly. It is a class in which we develop our thinking skills and think directly about the topic by writing a blog related to the class every week. The professor said that the first of the most important things is to ask and think directly. He also said that professors and students have different communication methods. He said that Koreans try to avoid conflict, are very collective, and avoid criticism. The professor asks us questions and students answer, receive advice and suggestions, improve their communication skills, and have an opportunity to think deeper. Also, people say that each person has a different way of learning, and some people learn by watching, and others learn by listening, reading, writing. (I very much agree with this idea!) And he said that our thoughts can all be different and that we should res...

1.summary In this class, we learned how to find reliable materials such as research. Representative sites were Google Books and Google Scholar. On Google Books, you can find a variety of materials and freely read the pages you want. Books are limited in offline bookstores (whether borrowed by someone or not purchased from a bookstore), but not in Google Books. I can find the information I want at any time. Next, Google Scholar told me a special setting because there is a lot of unreliable information. And he told us how to find the right materials. He also explained what makes materials good. Number one is ranking. Ranking is information that people find a lot, and it seems like a good way to increase reliability. Number two is to check publishers or authors. If you search publishers or authors and check if they are verified people, you will definitely increase reliability. 2.interesting  After taking this class, I was interested in the information power of this modern socie...

  1. summary 'What is the definition of sociology?' was a key topic in this class. The professor introduced the opinions of various people. For example, John Rex said that it is a study of social problems. Jonathan defined it as a study of the interaction of human behavior and social organization. There were opinions from a variety of famous scholars. He asked the question of how there are so many and so many different definitions. He also said that what we have defined is just defined by an organization (very impressive!) and we had discussion activities. We had a class where we listened to and talked about each other's opinions while discussing property, the power of relationships, and depression. 2.interesting I have always thought, 'People's thoughts are all different.' And after listening to the professor's class, my thoughts felt more strengthened and verified. I was interested to see that various scholars defined the definition of sociology differentl...

1.summary  Today, we learned about the history of sociology. Why should we learn history? It was the first question of this class. I answered, 'We need to learn history so that we can move forward.' The professor said the same thing about me (there was treasure!). We get the power to live in the present and live in the present. Society began when humans were born. Therefore, learning the history of sociology is probably like learning a discipline that has existed since the first human years. 2.interesting The dictionary meaning of 'society' means a group made up of groups. Can it be considered a society where two friends walk on campus while talking happily? Of course, this is also a society. In other words, society is created from the time humans are born, so learning the history of society is a very interesting and meaningful activity. 3.discussion We should learn history. We can lay the foundation for the future and we can not repeat the same mistake by learning hi...
