1.summary
In this lecture, there was a general introduction to the professor and the class. The professor's teaching method is to ask questions and answer them directly. It is a class in which we develop our thinking skills and think directly about the topic by writing a blog related to the class every week. The professor said that the first of the most important things is to ask and think directly.
He also said that professors and students have different communication methods. He said that Koreans try to avoid conflict, are very collective, and avoid criticism. The professor asks us questions and students answer, receive advice and suggestions, improve their communication skills, and have an opportunity to think deeper. Also, people say that each person has a different way of learning, and some people learn by watching, and others learn by listening, reading, writing. (I very much agree with this idea!)And he said that our thoughts can all be different and that we should respect other people's thoughts even if they are different from our own.(That's right!)
2.interesting thing
I am not good at English. I was very afraid of this class in English. However, when I took your introductory class and said that your free teaching method and individual learning method are different, my concern disappeared a little. It was very interesting that professors and students can ask and answer each other's questions, and people with different communication methods can think together and have new thoughts by receiving advice. In our lives, we tend to avoid people who are different from our own thoughts. But in this class, I think I can speak my thoughts freely and try to think about others again, and I will think about it again. I like your teaching method very much, and I will freely express my thoughts and listen to other people's opinions when asked questions during class.(I am not good at English, so even if I use a translator!)
3.discussion
Among what the professor said, Koreans try to avoid conflict and avoid criticism. Why is that? We live a very community life. From birth, we naturally live a community of family, kindergartens, schools, and companies. There are certainly many good things about living a community life. However, the phenomenon of being aware of others, adopting the majority of opinions in the community, and just following the majority of opinions without giving their own opinions is a problem of this system. Therefore, I think that the thoughts of living in such a community and just thinking, 'What if I am pushed out of this community after a bad opposition?' are what made us do.
