1.Summary
The main topics in today's class were social class and prejudice. Social class simply refers to how people are divided by various criteria, such as money, power, education level, occupation, etc. Our society is generally divided into upper, middle, and lower classes. This distinction can be defined differently for each person, but it's generally divided like this. The upper class is people with a lot of money and power. They usually have a good education, high jobs, and have a lot of influence in society. Living in a big house, riding a good car, and eating at a fancy restaurant, etc., the standard of living is very high. The middle class are less likely to live a stable life than the upper class. Many people usually graduate from college, have stable jobs, and care about their children's education. Their homes and cars are decent, and they have the economic power to live a leisurely life. The lower class are people who suffer from financial difficulties. There are cases where jobs are unstable or not at all, and the level of education is relatively low. Life is often difficult, and it is often difficult to meet basic needs. Next explained the prejudice. Is there anyone who doesn't have a bias? It was one of my professor's questions. We all have biases (I think biases will have aliens as well as people on Earth). For example, when a man who is muscular approaches him, he feels scared, and if he has tattoos, he or she will think that he or she is a bad person. The professor said that such prejudice is a global problem, not just in a country's society.
2.Interesting
The interesting point I felt in this class was about national supremacy. Ethnic supremacy refers to the idea of believing that one nation is superior to another. It manifests itself in an attitude that considers others inferior, claiming that one nation is superior by race, culture, historical, or other standards. These ideas have historically been the cause of many conflicts and conflicts. The origin of ethnic supremacy is long, but it emerged especially strongly in the 19th and early 20th centuries. During times of imperialism and colonial expansion, European countries justified the domination and exploitation of other peoples, claiming that their civilizations and cultures were superior to those of other regions. These ideas were also the background of World War I and World War II. In particular, the Aryan supremacy in Nazi Germany is an extreme example. The Nazis massacred countless people, including Jews, Gypsies, and Slavs, claiming that the Aryan was the most dominant nation. This terrible incident remains one of the darkest times in human history. Ethnic supremacy is still a problem in modern society. Ethnic conflicts continue to exist in many parts of the world, mainly due to ethnic supremacist ways of thinking. For example, some countries have policies that discriminate against and exclude certain ethnic groups or races. These policies cause social anxiety and conflict, and they also lead to human rights violations. Why does national supremacy have a problem? First, it is because it is basically an idea that denies human equality. All human beings are born with dignity and rights, and no ethnic group is superior to others. Second, national supremacy promotes conflict and violence. Rather than acknowledging and respecting differences between ethnic groups, it promotes an attitude to discriminate and exclude them. Education and change of perception are important to solve these problems. It is necessary to teach understanding and respect for various cultures and ethnic groups from an early age. In addition, the government and social groups should ban discrimination and implement policies to promote equality. In conclusion, national supremacy is an idea that causes great harm to human society, and overcoming it requires cooperation and efforts worldwide. It is important to create a society that respects and coexists with different cultures based on the recognition that we are all equal.
