  1.summary

Today's class was about religious sociology. When I saw the word religious sociology, I thought, "Why did you write the same thing twice? Religion is society and society is religion!" The professor showed the religions of various countries around the world and presented pictures and graphs of the proportions of the people of each country. And he asked the question, 'What do you think religion is a glocal example?' An example is Buddhism. Buddhism is a religion spread by Sakyamuni, who is from Nepal, but his ideas have spread all over the world and are now selected as a representative religion.

2.interesting

What was interesting to me was that many scholars had already studied the study of 'religious sociology'. This means that religion has been recognized as a society since a long time ago. I think I was mistaken. I thought that religion was recognized as a society because the media developed so that we could share each other's thoughts, but it was amazing that religion was recognized as a society much longer than the media was activated.

3.disscusion

The topic I want to discuss with my classmates is 'How is the spread of religion done?' As the professor said in the class, in the current society, it can be seen that the religion of a specific country has decreased a lot, and the glocalization of religion has been activated a lot. Then, how will the spread of religion between countries work? I saw the answer as media. With the development of media, we can lie down in bed and hear the news of that country within 20 seconds, no matter how far away it is. In other words, we encounter the religions of other countries through the media and say, 'Wow...this is a religion awesome. How can you approach problems I couldn't solve like this!' and think, 'I should also believe in this religion!' and spread that religion to people in the same country. (This is also easier because the media has developed.)
